Project manager Van der Valk speaks
My name is Edgar Bolwerk and I work as a project manager at Van der Valk. In this role, I have, amongst other things, overseen the construction of Hotel Eindhoven Best.
Quality as our guiding principle
When developing a new hotel, everything revolves around quality. This applies not only to the building’s appearance, but also to the facilities behind the scenes. In the kitchen, cold stores and storage areas, everything must be just right. Our staff work with these facilities every day.
At Van der Valk, we make a conscious choice to use strong brands and reliable solutions. We apply this approach consistently across all areas of the hotel. We make no compromises when it comes to storage racking either.
Bespoke storage solutions
For Hotel Eindhoven Best, we opted for tall cold stores and freezer rooms. This called for a clever layout of the available space. We wanted to make the most of the storage capacity without compromising on organisation and hygiene.
Together with REA, we discussed the bespoke options. We drew up and discussed the complete layout in advance. This resulted in a solution that perfectly suits our situation.

We see this not only in our new hotels. Older Van der Valk establishments still feature REA shelving units that have been in use for decades. Some are even more than thirty years old.

Hygiene is a key priority for us. That is why we appreciate the well-thought-out design of the racking systems. Thanks to the mobile solutions and the different heights, it is easy to keep areas clean.
What’s more, you can move the racking systems quickly whenever necessary. That makes day-to-day work a lot easier.
As well as the storage racks, we now also make extensive use of REA’s mobile systems. We only discovered these possibilities during the project. They have now become an indispensable part of our daily operations.
